Hannah Sifleet – General Manager
Hannah joined us in December and has found love in the wine trade. After working in cocktail bars in Oxford for many years she has moved here to pursue a career in wine and food. Hannah has taken to dry Germanic Riesling especially from Baden. If you need a wine based cocktail though she is your girl.
Oliver Loxton – Assistant Manager (Wine)
Oliver Joined our Team in December. At just 23 years old this young sommelier is has an impressive pedigree, originally from South Africa, Oliver then traveled to Cork in Ireland which was where he first discovered his love for wine, working in some of cities finest restaurants. He has completed his WSET level 3 in Wine and Spirits and is Currently Studying for his Level 4. In addition to this he also studying for a degree in Business Management. Oliver’s Favourite wine is Domaine Leflaive from Burgundy. If you are interested in trying anything different or simply want to have a glass of something tasty then Oli is your man.
Josh Webber – Assistant Manager
Josh joined us in March, after previously running a successful hotel in Somerset. Moving to Oxford, he has pursued his passion for wine by completing his WSET level 2 in September and always trying new wines to develop his palate. Favourites of his include a good Oregon Pinot Noir and he loves a glass of English sparkling wine, especially Furleigh Estate. He’s also partial to a Cornish Pilsner from time to time!
As well as our full time and regular part time staff we are lucky to attract a wide range of interesting and well informed part time staff from all around the world. Whilst some stay for long periods, others move on – such is the nature of the business. The staff however are carefully chosen for their combination of wine knowledge, café or restaurant experience, personal skills and their ability to keep calm under pressure.
